Plastic 3 TLS Update

Plastic 3: Support for TLS 1.2

360Works has released a new version 3 of Plastic which now supports the TLS 1.2 security protocol.

Plastic was created to make it easy to process secure credit card payments from FileMaker. At 360Works, we consider it a priority to ensure our plugins are working with the latest technology standards.

The PCI Security Standards Council has set deadlines in place for transitioning from earlier versions of TLS to a secure version of TLS 1.2 by June 30, 2018. TLS 1.1 is the minimum required version and TLS 1.2 is the recommended version; Plastic 3 adds support for both.

Specific gateways have released dates for which they plan to discontinue support for earlier TLS versions:

  • Authorize.Net will require TLS 1.2 by September 18, 2017.
  • Payflow Pro will require TLS 1.2 by June 30, 2017.
  • Payeezy will require TLS 1.2 by July 25, 2017.
  • Converge will require TLS 1.2 by October 31, 2017.

If you do not see your gateway listed above or have additional gateway deadline questions, please contact your gateway directly for their requirements.

It is important to take action with security updates, as vulnerabilities in SSL and early TLS are very serious.

Plastic 3 is available as a paid upgrade from Plastic 2.
