Introducing Plastic!

The Plastic plug-in makes it easy to process secure, SSL-encrypted credit card payments from FileMaker Pro, FileMaker Server, and FileMaker Web Publishing.

Plastic can run charges and transactions with credit-card swipers, card-not-present accounts, direct check debts, and much more. Plastic introduces profile-based payments, or tokenization, which save payment and customer data to the gateway.

Running a charge with 360Works Plastic can be done in just one script step:

 Set Variable[ $transactionResult; CCProcessPayment(
        "merchantId"; "password"; 5; "1111222233334444"; "0916" ) ]
profile based payments

Profile-based payments: PCI compliance made easy

Profile-based payments, also known as tokenization, save payment and customer information with the merchant provider instead of in your database. By keeping this sensitive data out of your solution, obtaining PCI compliance is much simpler.

Use this stored information to process payments quickly and securely, without having to re-key or swipe card data multiple times. Using 360Works Plastic, your database only stores a customer token (instead of actual card data) which can then be used to run future charges.

recurring billing

Subscriptions and recurring payments

Set up recurring billing to automatically charge customers on a schedule. Save the payment information straight to the gateway, not your database, along with a specified time period and frequency.

Bill customers on flexible, customized schedules, perfect for non-profit or donation campaigns. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time.

take checks in a snap

Direct debits and ACH payments

With Plastic, you can take an electronic check with Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments. Supported with six gateways, this payment method will process a direct debit sale, void, or refund straight to a bank account.

Never lose a sale due to payment methods again with ACH payments.

What does the FileMaker community think of 360Works Plastic?

"I just wanted to say thank you to Sterling and everyone else for all your help! Plastic was the first plug-in I have ever used with Filemaker and there has been a bit of a learning curve, but you guys have been very understand and helpful. It looks, like I am set for now, but this experience definitely makes me more comfortable with the idea of purchasing additional plug-ins in the future. Thanks again!!" —Jonathan Marcus

"For processing credit cards, I recommend 360Works Plastic 2, it was just released about a month ago. Absolutely wonderful plugin for processing credit cards. It works with a number of gateways, and it's very easy to use, but the big advantage that it has is that it supports tokenization." —Tim Neudecker, Kyo Logic

"The Plastic2 Credit Card plugin is excellent. You did a GREAT job in your design. I've integrated all 12 gateways into SuiteFlow. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your excellent scripting - made it so easy!" —Steve Shiver, SuiteFlow Software

"We also really like the 360Works Plastic plugin. Easy to use, just works, works with magnetic card readers also." —Chris Kubica, Application Architects

Steve Lehman was very impressed with 360Works software and service and went to 360Works Plastic for a credit card processing solution. "The Titanic Museum is not a small business,” he says. “They have to run a very high volume of credit transactions every hour of every day. Since the point-of-sale system was an active operating system, I couldn’t afford to experiment and I couldn’t leave them behind either"

"Unlike some other plugins all the url coding is hidden so it makes it super easy to implement and includes all options including refunds." —Andy Gaunt, FMPug

"I am a FileMaker Developer for the Titanic Museum in Branson, Missouri. I have been working in FileMaker since version 2. Recently we purchased your Plastic Plug-in for credit card charging to replace a plug-in from another company. Your plug-in is far superior to what we were using." —Steve Lehman, Titanic-The World's Largest Museum Attraction

"We had a requirement to add credit card processing to a FileMaker database. Plastic was by far the easiest to implement." —Larry Schultz, Mac Edge Corporation

I just finished my first attempt at using the plastic plugin from 360Works. To be honest I was pretty intimidated by credit card processing which is why I had not sold it before as an option to my customers.

I was absolutely amazed at how painlessly the process was. I used the example file to get me off the ground and ended up with a very full featured solution.

The end solution now asks the user if they would like to charge the full amount of the invoice if not then asks the user for the amount to charge. It then attempt to charge the card on file for the amount specified and logs the payment in the partial payment section of BC8. Another section was to allow either a voided payment or a charge back to a previous payment. So on the payments portal I added a button and based on if the charge was done today (void) or done previously (charge back) I processed the appropriate charge on the card. Including a lot of logic to choose between multiple Merchant Accounts and other functionality specific to this customer I completed the whole section of payments and refunds in about 8.5 hours. That included going from no knowledge to a completely tested and working solution.

I will definitely be selling this functionality to my customers going forward!

—Mike Wallace, RCC Engineer

"Love this product. Use it with several clients and has been very reliable. Thank you." —Lee Strong, Strong Computer Support

"Thanks for all of your help. I rarely get the customer care from a company that I got with you. I will certainly be recommending your products and company to anyone that needs your services." —Angel Perales, Home Mac Services

"Your company has hit this right out of the park! I have done credit card and ACH processing for years with a previous company and what you are offering here is incredible." —Paul Blanchette

Questions and Answers

What version of FileMaker is required? Will it run on Windows/Mac?

360Works plugins are compatible with the FileMaker 14 platform and higher.

All of our plugins are designed to run on Mac and on Windows. All system requirements are the same as those of FileMaker. As long as you meet FileMaker's minimum requirements, you can run our plugins. Please reference the FileMaker Pro operating system requirements for all versions.

Are 360Works plugins compatible with FileMaker Cloud?

Yes, but only for the most recent version of the plugin. For non-plugin products such as MirrorSync and Zulu, MirrorSync is compatible with FileMaker Cloud, but Zulu is not.

What about Web Publishing and FileMaker Server?

If you purchase the Enterprise License (see below), then you will be able to use the plugin with the FileMaker Web Publishing Engine. This means that when you use our plugins in your FileMaker scripts, they will work the same way with Instant Web Publishing (IWP) or WebDirect. It also means that your Custom Web Publishing applications (with XSLT, PHP, or any other web technology) can call FileMaker scripts that use our plugins.

Can I use this plugin with my FileMaker runtime solution?

Yes, all of our plugins work in FileMaker runtime solutions, just copy the plugin to the runtime's Extensions folder.

What kind of licenses are there?

Most of our plugins are available in 3 licenses: a demo version which works for 2 hours every time you launch FileMaker, a Workgroup license for 10 or fewer users, and an Enterprise license for unlimited users within a single organization.

What about FileMaker Go?

If you'd like to add plug-in functionality to a mobile solution, there are a number of options available. Plug-ins cannot be installed directly on a iPhone or iPad, but you can trigger a script on a machine that does have the plug-in installed. Using FileMaker Server, you can have routine scripts that will process all the outstanding function calls. For an example on how to do this, see this article on accomplishing this with Plastic. Alternatively you could integrate RemoteScripter to trigger server side scripts. Finally, FMRPC is a separate product developed as a collaboration between Skeleton Key and 360Works.

There are more Questions and Answers on our product support site.

Purchase the Portfolio Bundle to obtain an Enterprise license of this product which allows for unlimited users within a single organization.
