FileMaker 2025 Ready!

Automatic offsite backups for FileMaker Server.

Off-site, automatically

Backups upload to Amazon S3 over an encrypted connection on the schedule your FileMaker Server already runs. The copy in the cloud stays safe even when the drive in your office doesn't.

Built around FileMaker Server

SafetyNet watches your existing backup sets, compresses each one, and sends it off-site on its own. No second job to schedule or babysit.

Restore in one click

Pick a backup in the web console. SafetyNet closes the live file, archives it, and puts the copy you chose in its place.

Watch it from anywhere

A web control panel shows every transfer and lets you download or restore a backup from any internet connection.

Alerts when one fails

SafetyNet emails you the moment a backup fails, and on every success if you want it. You hear about a problem long before you need the backup.

Recover onto any server

Lost a server? Install SafetyNet on a replacement with the same email address, and every off-site backup is right there to restore.

A sync folder isn't a backup.

Dropbox, Google Drive, and iCloud copy whatever is on disk, including a backup that's still being written. That can corrupt the off-site copy and your local one too. SafetyNet only uploads a finished FileMaker Server backup set, so every copy you restore is clean and complete.

System Requirements

All of our products are supported on Mac, Windows, and Linux — system requirements are the same as those of FileMaker.

Common questions.

SafetyNet knows how FileMaker Server works, so unlike a generic cloud storage drive, it will never try to copy a partially-written backup, which will not only corrupt your off-site backup, it can corrupt your local backup as well due to file locking issues. Because of this, you don't need to guess how long your backups will take and schedule accordingly; SafetyNet monitors the backups folder every few minutes and writes an offsite backup whenever one is needed. In addition, SafetyNet provides a web-based single-click interface for easily restoring an offsite backup onto your FileMaker Server. This process will automatically close the hosted database, archive it (you can always access the archive later if you need it), download the offsite backup into the live database folder, and then open the backup database so it becomes the new live database.

It's actually quite simple! First, download and run the installer. After the installation completes, see the step-by-step guide here.

No problem! Simply install SafetyNet on the second server using the same email address as your first server. From there, you'll see all the backups, now click the restore button and SafetyNet will do the rest to get your offsite backups up and running on the new server.

Yes, in fact, if you use the same email address on your servers, then each server can see the backups from the other servers, and you can restore the backups onto any server you want.
