Success Story: FileMaker App for Sharing COVID-19 Information Leverages 360Deploy to Make Frequent Live File Changes
COVID-19 FileMaker App Success Story
360Deploy Powers Rapid Updates

About Alessandro Corticelli with DigitalMaker
Alessandro Corticelli is an Italian developer with more than 34 years of experience on the FileMaker Platform. He is CEO and Senior Developer of DigitalMaker, an FBA Partner and Claris Partner with offices in the United States and Brazil.
With the widespread COVID-19 pandemic, he created the BEAT COVID-19 app to share information and resources. Alessandro is originally from Bergamo, the Italian city most affected by the pandemic. His mission is to collect valuable information and share it with the public using FileMaker. This project is non-profit with volunteers from all around the world.
How the App Helps
The BEAT COVID-19 app standardizes multiple forms of data for consolidated statistics. It collects, connects, and shares information using FileMaker's capabilities to interact with REST APIs, parsing data using JSON and other native functions.
The app is divided into four sections:
- Information with video and external links
- Preventions with instructions
- Statistics and visual data comparisons
- Links and sources used in the app
How 360Deploy Helped
Alessandro reports that 360Deploy helped to implement and update the live version of their app while his development team continues to work locally. Several developers work on local copies of the file. When they decide to push changes, they send their file to a coordinator who merges changes into a "delegate" copy, then uses 360Deploy to automate pushing it to production.
360Deploy simplifies the tedious process of deploying changes in a development database to a production database. This can be done with the click of a button while eliminating human error and reducing downtime.
